Lake Rosseau | Four-Season Cottage Rental

This is a great spot for your vacation — whatever the season. With a grand fireplace, full air conditioning, and central heating, our cottage is the ideal spot to enjoy Muskoka: spring, summer, fall, or winter. It's five minutes away from the nearest general store and about twenty minutes from Port Carling. I won't tell you about the fun things to do in Muskoka, Google is better at that, but here are the amenities you will enjoy at the cottage.

Inside

Brand new everything

The fully-equipped kitchen includes all the latest in modern luxury.

New: fridge, stove, oven, below-counter microwave, and dishwasher. (Washer and dryer also on site.)

The two new bathrooms are beautiful, functional, and both have heated tile floors.

The open concept living room, dining room, and kitchen create a convivial space for socializing and entertaining. The floor-to-ceiling windows give an unencumbered view of the lake.

The wood-burning fireplace, made from the original stones of the former Royal Muskoka Island Hotel, is spectacular; we made sure to preserve it from the original cottage.

The bedrooms have brand new top-of-the-line Sealy beds, built-in shelves in the closets, sound proofing in the walls and doors, and blackout blinds or curtains. The master bedroom has a king-sized bed, the two guest bedrooms both have queen-sized beds.

Also included to make your stay relaxing and luxurious:

  • central heating, central air conditioning and humidifier/dehumidifier

  • automatic back-up generator

  • two large TVs—one in the living room and one in a guest bedroom, connected to Satellite TV

  • high-speed internet, wifi music with Spotify and “Alexa"

  • DVD player

  • cards, board games

Sleeps eight in the bedrooms, two in a bed. The "Bunky" has a queen bed, great privacy, and a wonderful view of the lake.

Outside

Lots of room to play and explore

The cottage is on a double lot with 265 feet of water frontage. The rock point on the adjoining lot provides our guests with more space and more privacy than many cottages in the area.

  • the cottage is in the lee of a hill protecting it from the north winds, so while our across-the-lake neighbours are donning their sweaters we’re still running around in our Ts and shorts

  • gas barbecue and small fire pit (don’t forget your marshmallows)

  • large deck overlooking the lake with an outdoor dining table. Our guests have told us they eat all of their meals out there, which doesn’t surprise us because we do too, enjoying some great summer fare along with the great view

  • large 12 ft wide X 44 ft long dock

  • sandy walk-in shoreline—great for kids

  • flat lawns and rock flower gardens

  • very few stairs and no steep slopes—ideal for kids, or grandparents

  • close to the end of a dead-end road, so there is only local traffic making it quieter and safer

  • Muskoka Island’s amenities are for use by Island Residents/Guests and include: walking trails, a basketball half court, a baseball diamond back stop, a playing field (soccer, frisbee, etc.), picnic tables, BBQ, and a gazebo

  • watercraft: a canoe, a kayak, and a paddle board

  • fishing tackle and tips to catch them

The JW Marriott (The only 4.5 star hotel in Northern Ontario) is 4 kilometres away. Far enough away they are not a bother. Close enough you can be there in a 5 minute car ride to enjoy fine dining or a massage at the spa. There are too many golf courses to name within thirty minutes, several within ten minutes.
