Welcome—we are Earl and Linda, proud owners of this distinguished Lake Rosseau estate. Reimagined in 2018, the property was meticulously rebuilt to integrate contemporary luxury with Muskoka’s timeless character. Having enjoyed these waters for generations, we regard this as our most treasured retreat. Evenings spent on the dock, immersed in panoramic sunsets, embody the elegance and tranquility we are privileged to share with our guests.
We grew up with family cottages just across the road from one another—friends from a young age who later built a life together. Linda’s childhood cottage was perched on a north-facing cliff, where every swim meant a steep climb down to the lake and a dash back up the rocks to answer the old party-line phone. Today, she delights in the ease of our southwest-facing property, with its flat, level terrain and exceptional exposure—truly an outstanding setting.
It took us quite a while to find the perfect name for our cottage, but we finally decided on Olga’s Bay Lake House. The name honors Earl’s mother, Olga, who chose this property back in 1961. She had first pick of the bay, so it felt only right to name it after her.
We’re excited to share that our property has been spotlighted by Cottage Life Magazine as one of Muskoka’s premier rental destinations. In their feature article, ‘Rent a Cottage in One of the Hottest Cottage Real Estate Markets', our cottage was selected from among the many rental options across the region—a true testament to its charm and appeal.
The lake is clean, calm, and exceptionally beautiful. Thanks to the sheltered shoreline, you won’t encounter the large rolling waves common in other areas—on many evenings, the water is so still it reflects like glass.
The kayak and paddleboards are always a favorite. Drafting just a few inches, they glide effortlessly and are perfect for exploring the lake’s many hidden corners. For those who enjoy photography, the shoreline offers endless opportunities—wildlife is often spotted in the early mornings and during the quieter seasons.
Fishing here is outstanding. With over 50 years of experience on this lake, I’d be happy to share a few of my favorite tips—just between us.
Because we also own the adjacent lot, the property boasts 265 feet of private shoreline, providing more seclusion than most cottages enjoy. That lot is beautifully treed and landscaped along the water’s edge, featuring a striking rock point that’s ideal for catching sunsets, stargazing, savoring the view, or picking blueberries in season. Children love to explore the area, while adults often gather on the flat, grassy stretch between the point and the boathouse. With comfortable seating right at the water’s edge, it’s the perfect place to read, relax, and take in the timeless beauty of Muskoka.
